Hey there, welcome to the new Tilers Talk Bulletin Board. Anybody can post, no need to register (you can if you want to). Manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, tile fixers and potential customers are all welcome to post to the bulletin board.

Tilers Talk BB [Tilers Talk Bulletin Board] | Tilers Talk

Welcome to Tilers Talk. The Tilers Community Group

Welcome to Tilers Talk Bulletin Board. We scour the internet to find all the tile industry advice that we can, and bring it to you via this ad-free sponsor-free free-to-use bulletin board. Did we mention that it's free?

We are independent to all suppliers and brands. We allow any brand to post their news here, we also use socials and will pick up news and helpful posts up, automatically from there. Tilers Talk also collects news from other social groups and forums such as UK Tiling Forum and Tilers Forums. And from "Tilers Talk" and "Tilers Talk UK" fb social groups (both better than that Tilers Community lark).

Tiles Industry News

Tiles Industry News from tiling companies and brands that are leading the field. The Tile Association, Tilezine and Tile and Stone Journal articles are also found here.

Welcome to Tilers BB (Bulletin Board). Anybody is allowed to post here, registration isn't required to post new threads, but you're welcome to register if you would like to receive notifications about replies etc. Manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, tile fixers and their potential customers are all welcome.

Tilers Talk is not connected to any other forum or group, we have our own Tilers Talk Facebook Group and Tilers Talk business page on Facebook. Just so we're not mixed up with other brands. We welcome members of Tilers Community on FB, Tilers Forums and other places. We're all just tilers after all. Tilers Talk will route out tile-related news and information on all social networks and websites of all the companies we train with, use and buy all the time, to share back with you on our own FB Group and this Bulletin Board here.

What's the best flexible grout to use?

Hello all,
I have a porcelain tile floor that runs through a large kitchen, dining area, hallway and bathroom. The subflooring is thick enough with no noticeable motion. The tiles appear very secure. The floor was laid about 6 months ago. There are now hair line cracks in the grout throughout the project. They are not in one particular area. They run mostly from the corners of the tile. The tiler was surprised by the cracking grout and he...

Best tile adhesive for Heavy Terrazzo tiles On wall

I am installing heavy terrazzo tiles (size 400mm x400mm, and 20mm thick) onto lower part of bathroom wall up to height of 1200mm and also on the bathroom floor. They weigh 48kg/m2!. I am using the approriate backer boards on the floor and wall. But I am unsure as to the best adhesive to use. Thinking about Keraquick and latex plus from Mapei but i have had conflicting advice and, as a beginner, I don’t want to take any risks with these heavy...

Do you guys feel that the majority of customers overlook how important it is to prepare substrates?

I foolishly agreed to take on a job without going to look at it first for my brother in law who works as a handy man mainly for a lettings company. He does various work like joinery, painting, wallapering, tiling etc. I turned up at the job to find this:

CTD ultra tile adhesive

I'm going to be using the ultra rapid set S1 white adhesive now being sold at CTD.
can't find a data sheet for it, has anyone got a link to it ?

best I can find is the data sheet for the Proflex SP which says:

Underfloor Heating (UFH): If UFH is being installed it must be fully commissioned before starting the tiling process to ensure it is in full working
order. This includes both electric mat and water pipe systems. Once the UFH has...

Best tile pattern for 25x75cm tiles - TF Tile Suppliers

Best tile pattern for 25x75cm tiles

Hi,

I’m in the process of renovating my bathroom. I have installed tile backer boards and now in the process of buying the tiles. I’m interested in the 75cm x25cm marble effect ceramic tiles from crown tiles(see attached). All 4 walls are approx 1.7m wide and 2.5m high. Do you think the tile size above is a suitable size for my wall size? And if yes, what would be the best pattern to lay it in? Brick or stack? I’m planning to install...

Tile Shops and Adhesive Brands that we Recommend

National tile shops we recommend include (but are not limited to) Topps Tiles, Tile Giant, Tile Mountain.

Tile adhesive brands we recommend include (but are not limited to) BAL, Mapei, Weber. All trusted brands with quality products and the financial means to back their long product warranties etc. Avoid newer brands and new local independents that haven't quite made it through their first couple of crucial years yet.
